Where to buy kinky hair products in Adelaide
One thing that I took for granted before moving to Adelaide is the availability of natural hair products. Not to mention how affordable they were! There were plenty of hair stores with numerous brands of shampoo, conditioner, oils and all the tools you didn’t even think you needed. My favourite was Super cosmetics – Mama Ngina branch to be specific. Even the supermarkets were taking on the natural hair trend and stocking a wider variety of products.
But here, these products were rare to find. Most shops only have the usual products for fine mzungu hair, and a few for “curly” hair. As in, very loose curls that just wouldn’t work as well on kinky hair. A lot of people would buy them online but shipping to Australia can be more costly than the product itself.
Well, I got you covered! Here is a list of stores you can buy products from.
They have the most variety of brands from Cantu and Shea Moisture to Auntie Jackie’s and the good old Dark and Lovely. Hair oils like Jamaican black castor oil in all shades can also be found here.
They stock African Black soap, various hair oils and Cantu products
This store is well stocked with brands like Cantu, TCB, African Pride and some of the Shea Moisture variety
They stock some ranges of the Shea Moisture brand, including the favourite – Jamaican Black Castor oil. Priceline is also also the most affordable to buy Shea Moisture products from.
This is an online store but they have many brands and offer the most affordable shipping cost.
Let me know in the comment section how you source your hair products.
